Project Background: Forrestfield-Airport Link is a $2 billion Federal Government and WA State Government project being constructed to deliver a rail service to the eastern suburbs of Perth. Construction of the Forrestfield-Airport Link project started in 2016 and trains are expected to be running on the line in 2020. Three new train stations are being built – Belmont, Airport Central and Forrestfield. The rail link will connect with the existing Midland Line near Bayswater Station and will run to Forrestfield through underground tunnels, ensuring minimal impact on the existing land and road network.
